Tuesday Movie – Whisky Tango Foxtrot

Went to see a new movie today – Whiskey Tango Foxtrot.

This light version of a woman reporter (Tina Fey) going to a war zone on the spur of the moment is good. It is not a deep indictment of the futility of war, but does touch on the effect of the U.S. war against the Taliban in Afghanistan on does touch on the effect of the U.S. war against the Taliban in Afghanistan on both American soldiers & other participants and the people who are trying to live in the war zone. There are a couple of light hearted moments, such as when Kim Baker (Fey) is called over by some Afghan women to explain why their well keeps blowing up. Fey shows the emotions of the main character in an appealing way. Romance, of course, is involved; but not a typical “happy ever after” (or it would be a Rom-Com). Worth seeing. No kids.

I like Tina Fey in Whiskey Tango Foxtrot much better than in Sisters with Amy Pohler.
